Rob Olver reports back on attending HealtheVoices17, a conference of online health advocates held in Chicago by Janssen & Janssen.

Attending #HealtheVoices2017: a conference like no other.

I applied, but didn't expect to go. HealtheVoices is a very different sort of conference to any of the others I’ve been to. It’s a conference of online patient health advocates, 105 of them this time, representing different chronic health conditions, HIV being just one. I was already aware of the conference due to PositiveLite.com’s Wayne Bristow and Bob Leahy having attended last year. They’d both had nothing but good to say about the experience and so, thinking, “Why the heck not

Guest author Daniel Bauer says “T-E-A-M-W-O-R-K!!! Yes that is what is going to create the most effective, super-global vaccine to END AIDS during this generation.”

Reigniting the HIV/AIDS Conversation = TeamWork: @HashTagHIV Campaign

Listen, I get it! We are all doing our own thing. . . outreach, prevention, testing and much more. Kudos to all of you who are getting their hands in the mix of the work that is necessary to care for those living with HIV/AIDS and necessary to educate those not living with HIV/AIDS to prevent contracting this virus and other STI's / STD's as well as to combat stigma and to get tested! On a serious note. . . I hear the following being repeated a lot (in fact I hear myself saying this too) . .

REVIEW: Floating, another winner from Harbourfront's World Stage series.

Bob Leahy goes to the theatre and comes out liking Hugh Hughes in Floating a lot, but also thinking whether the connections it makes with its audience can be replicated in the HIV movement

REVIEW: Floating, another winner from Harbourfront's World Stage series.

I seem to have a habit of reviewing shows at the end of their run, which means you can’t always get to see them. But I’m also in the habit of connecting the dots between what’s on stage and our lives outside the four walls of a theatre. In this capacity, Floating brought to us from Wales by World Stage, delivers dots in spades. Let me first tell you about the show. Like many I’ve seen lately, it’s decidedly odd. It’s also accessible, funny and engaging, qualities not always found i

Guest Blog Post by Robert Breining of Poziam & Poziam Radio

[Robert Breining, founder of Poziam & Poziam Radio continues with his blogging here on PositiveLite.com] Mondo Guerra, the rocking 32-year-old breakout star from the 8th season of Project Runway, came out on national television in a way he never thought he would on a past episode, when he revealed he was living with HIV. During the specific challenge the contestants were asked to create a textile pattern inspired by old family photos, evoking "something deeply personal." Mondo created bla

Something you may not know about me is that I am a reality show junkie. I watch all kinds from shows from Survivor & Hell’s Kitchen to Solitary.

[This is Robert Breinings second post as a guest writer. He is the founder of Poziam, a social netowrking website for people living with HIV, including the weekly blog radio program Pozam, along with all the rest of his cyber activist duties] I find watching everyday people put into stressful situations makes for great television. I think the first show I was hooked on was MTV’s Real World. The San Francisco season was the one season that hit home with me. When I first saw Pedro Zamora, I fe

I wanted my first blog for Positivelite.com to be about how I got to where I am today. I wasn't always as open about my HIV status. It took me about five years to accept it myself and move forward. I want to take you back about nine years ago.

[Editor's note: Please welcome our latest in guest writers Robert Breining, the creator of Poziam, a social networking site for those who are HIV positive. This is his story, and what I hope will be the first of more appearances on PositiveLite.com]   I can't tell you how many times I'd go to a bathhouse for what I convinced myself was "just for a couple of hours." But then I'd return home tweaked out three days later. I called those times tweakends. All I'd have to do while at the bathhous
