A Need to Laugh

Pure joy is a precious commodity. Happiness, in contrast, is attainable but can be fleeting.

I was recently thinking that as I get older, there are fewer opportunities to have a rip roaring good time. I’m capable of diving in if the opportunity arises but opportunities are random and even rare…especially working in the field of HIV prevention, education and support.

I recently met Brian, owner of positivelite.com and realized that his interesting wacky way to look at the world (with smarts intact) could be considered a tool for survival.

Everyone needs a laugh kit…something to pull out when everything becomes too serious. I’m thinking I’ll figure out what makes me laugh now that I am moving towards my fifties. Who wants to forget that joy is part of this life experience? Sombre reflection is also a life tool but I need to be reminded that it’s not the only way to solve a problem or get through a setback. Laughing out loud is not just a texting acronym. It can actually be done in real time!!!
